The Dingo Got My Sheep

Brief: Class exercise. Explore the use of 2-3 mechanics in creating a fun experience. The platform must be PC.

Constraints: The game must be a playable prototype.

Concept: A 2D, single-level rapid prototype where the Player charges a Ram back and forth across the screen protecting their sheep from increasing numbers of dingoes. Mechanics based around movement, running and jumping. The Ram only gives damage headbutting the dingoes but loses a life if they touch it anywhere else. The dingoes receive points for stealing sheep, the Player receives points for knocking out dingoes. Most points win.

Timeframe: 2 weeks 

Role: Designer

Team: Solo Project

Result: A single level rapid prototype that ends when the Ram dies. Dingoes get points for stealing sheep, Player for charging Dingoes. Most points win. There are some SFX but no ambience or background music in either the menu or the level. There are no bugs, although some of the features could use a little tweaking within the code. 

The game is simple but has proven to be quite addictive - An overall success.
